Since its establishment in 1948 Consorzio ZAI is focused in the promotion of the development of the Verona economy: as territorial institution it has the task of zoning planning and propulsion to the overall development of the territory and the economy.
A serious study of the logistics is at the base of the projects implemented by the Consortium in favor of local industries that can well expoit the rail-way, road, air and river. At the jurisdiction of the Consortium have been reserved four areas of Verona district: industrial area called Zai Storica, the other industrial area called Zai Two-Bassona, the area of the Quadrante Europa, the Innovation-Marangona area. It is a infrastructural system of 10 million square meters, which is a natural economic strength for the presence of 1.000 companies and 40.000 employees.
The terminal of Verona Quadrante Europa is the flagship facility of the Italian terminals network. It is located in the north of Verona at the intermodal and logistics centre and it is daily connected with dozens of trains for Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Eastern Europe and Southern Italy.

The terminal consists of 3 modules and has 15 tracks, 7 gantry cranes and five rubberized cranes.
